L. Browning Watercolor Painting Buildings

I found this painting at Savers for 12 cents. It had been mismarked. I am not sure what the price was supposed to have been, but they sold it to me for the 12 cents. It came matted and framed. The artist’s name is L. Browning. There is a card on the back stating “L. Browning, Original Contemporary Art In Mixed Media Including Handmade Paper And Paper Sculpture. Commissions Available In Custom Colors, Sizes, Mats, Frames.” But unfortunately gives no more information than that. I saw another painting of what looked like a flowering cactus by the same artist at the same thrift store, but it was priced at $25.

Carl R Zimmerman Watercolor Pastel Painting Three Stemmed Willow

I found this painting by Carl R. Zimmerman at a Savers thrift store for $7. It is watercolor and pastel. It came matted and framed, though the frame looked to be a little stained and should be replaced. The title of the painting is listed on the back as Three Stemmed Willow.

Gerry Schwartz Watercolor Painting Meditative Reflections

This painting is by Gerry Schwartz. I did a search, and I believe she is from Pittsford, NY. I found it at a Goodwill store for $6. It was matted and framed. The painting is watercolor and is titled on the back at Meditative Reflections. It is pretty showing the trees reflecting off the water. And hint of sun behind the trees.

Claudia Millett Watercolor Painting Mount Hood Oregon

I found this nice watercolor painting by Claudia Millett at the Savers store for $7. It came matted and framed. The painting is labelled on the back as being Mt. Hood, Oregon.

Susan Lowans Watercolor Painting Pink Begonias

I found this painting at a Goodwill store for $7. It came matted and framed. The painting is signed S. Lowans. There is a card on the back labelling the painting as Pink Begonias. It also lists the artist’s name as S. Lowans. But searching the phone number on cards, I found a listing for a Susan H. Lowans. The card states “courtesy of Roselawn Galleries.” The phone number has an older area code, so this was painted a while back. I couldn’t find much about the artist other than she was local to the Rochester Area. It’s a very pretty painting. I like it. For some reason, I am reminded of Georgia O’Keeffe, but I don’t know why. I am thinking it’s the subtle shading of the flowers. With the skill of this painting, I am surprised I haven’t been able to find out more about the artist. She is obviously very talented.

Ruth Mennell Watercolor Painting Ocean Shore

I found this painting at a Goodwill thrift store for $4. It is a nicely done watercolor painting signed by Ruth Mennell. It came matted and framed.

M F Shanly Watercolor Painting Pink Rose In Clear Bowl

I found this watercolor painting at an Amvets thrift store for $6. It came matted and framed. The painting is signed M. F. Shanly. It’s very pretty.

J Taft Pastel Painting Scotts Bluff Lake Ontario

I found this pastel painting at a VOA thrift store. It cost $5, and came matted and framed. The frame size is 14″ x 17″. The actual painting is smaller. The artist’s name appears to be J Taft and is signed on both the front and back. On the back it is labelled Scotts Bluff Lake Ontario. There is a number after the artists name: 1001. So maybe this was painted 10/2001?

Claudio Baretti Oil Painting Two Women On Village Street

I found this painting at a Goodwill for $5. It is either oil or acrylic on canvas. Not sure of the artists name. It looks like it is Claudio Baretti. My guess is this is one of those factory painted pieces for decorative use. But I do like the style. And for $5, what the hey. I like it.

Watercolor Painting Strathallan Hotel Lounge Watercolor Painting Strathallan Hotel Lounge Signature

I found this painting today at a Volunteers Of America for $15. It look like it has previously been priced at $30, but had been marked down. It’s a watercolor painting measuring about 16″ x 25″ and came framed and double matted. The painting is label Strathallen, but I believe it is a painting of the lounge in the Strathallan Hotel in Rochester NY, or at least an older version of the lounge. I can’t make out the signature. Maybe it is “Sweet” or “G West”? Maybe this painting was done for the hotel? The detail is very well done.
