Patterson oil painting of flowers in a vase with frame

Patterson oil painting of flowers in a vase
I stopped at several thrift stores today, and found two small oil paintings at a Salvation Army store. Both paintings were the same size, in indentical frames, and were of flowers in a vase. This is the second of the two paintings. It looks like it is signed “Patterson” or “Paterson”. It might be something else though.

This painting is very small and measures 5″x7″ and is painted on canvas board. The frame is nice and measures 10″x12″. The other painting I found at the same store was by Robert Cox, which was the better of the two. So part of me is wondering if this painting was someone’s attempt to mimic the Robert Cox painting. I don’t know. I am sure they were both donated by the same person. The painting was marked at $1.99, but with the pink tag, it was half off, so it only cost me $1.00!
